Introduction
Talking is natural! We talk all day to family, colleagues and acquaintances, yet when it comes to "public speaking" or formally addressing a group, many of us are gripped with fear and anxiety. However, public speaking is a skill that can be learned and improved.
Bravo Communication has helped many people develop and improve their speaking skills in many different situations for many different reasons.

Bravo Communication specialises in individual speech training and speech preparation, especially for wedding speeches and bridal parties, and teenagers (under 18).

With individuals, small groups or bridal party members, Bravo Communication assists in the planning of the speeches, assesses the requirements of each speaker, and prepares training sessions to suit those specific requirements.

Our Young Speakers Program helps juniors gain overall speaking skills that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

Don’t make the mistake of not being prepared for that speech or presentation, whether it is at a wedding reception, work seminar, or school assessment.

Teenagers
"The trouble with talking too fast is you may say something you haven't thought of yet." Ann Landers.

More and more, young people are called upon to present their opinions and ideas in formal presentation settings, at school, at college and later at university.

Bravo Communication has developed a Young Speakers Program for youths and teenagers. This specifically designed course introduces teenagers to many elements of public speaking that they can use for the rest of their lives:

  • Preparing and presenting a speech
  • Impromptu speaking
  • Using a microphone
  • Handling an interview
  • Introducing a speaker
  • The Master of Ceremonies.

The course also gives participants a good grounding for building and developing speaking and communication skills with the philosophy of lifelong communication development:

  • characteristics of a good speaker
  • elements of a good speech
  • getting your message across by knowing your listeners
  • listening, the other half of communicating in all situations
  • developing and building better listening skills

Wedding Speeches
"Be sure brain is engaged before putting mouth in gear." Author Unknown.

'The Speeches' are an integral part of a wedding reception, or any special function. Yet, they are often overlooked in the planning schedule.

Left to the last minute, a speech becomes a painful chore to the unprepared. Or worse, the quickly prepared or "off-the-cuff" speech can be in bad taste and embarrassing, causing red faces all round!

An unprepared or poorly prepared speech can lead to nerves and embarrassment. With some thought and preparation, anyone can present a memorable speech or presentation.

Bravo Communication specialises in small group tuition for wedding participants and bridal parties.

Sporting Groups
Bravo Communication presents Public Speaking training courses to the juniors at Bexley Golf Club. This course provides the juniors with self-confidence as well as the public speaking skills they are called on to use at the club, at school and later in their careers.

Together with the management and staff of your sporting club, we can create a course incorporating elements from our other courses to suit your specific group’s needs.

Youths and teenagers will benefit from the leadership and confidence they will gain in such a couse. This extends their sporting team involvement and builds other characteristics necessary in life.

Speech Writing
"In general, those who have nothing to say spend the longest time in saying it." Amy Lowell.

A well crafted speech or presentation will capture the audience, enthrall them from start to finish and leave them wanting more.

The content of a speech or presentation needs to be structured in such a way so as to lead the listener sequentially through a train of ideas along the simplest possible track.

The speech should tell a story by explaining concepts and ideas in terms that will be easily understood and followed by the audience.

A good speech has a basic theme which follows a standard structure:

  • Catchy opening
  • Interesting body
  • Powerful conclusion

It is no accident that great orators become great orators; they take particular care in preparing their speeches, paying special attention to each and every word.

Bravo Communication can help you construct your speech or presentation so you get your message across.

Individual Coaching
Sometimes a course just isn’t appropriate or practical, because of time restrictions or other limitations. If you prefer individual coaching sessions in any aspect of public speaking or presentations, Bravo can help. We will specifically structure your training sessions to cater for your particular requirements.

Managing Nerves
Nerves are a natural part of life, so we shouldn’t be afraid to be nervous. However, if you are one of the many people who are not just afraid to speak in public, but are terrified, then Bravo can help you manage your nerves so that you can harness nervous energy to enhance presentations.

By learning how to manage symptoms of anxiety you will be in a better frame of mind to give stunning presentations and memorable speeches.

Planning and practicing will also help you to manage nerves when it comes to speaking to an audience, no matter how large.

Public Speaking for Primary Students and Debating
Currently Bravo Communication is developing training packages for schools, which will contain all the requirements to present a complete 6 session course of public speaking for primary students and a complete 6 session debating course. If you are interested in receiving more information about either of these courses, please contact Bravo.
